Job Description

The Vice President of Operations is a Senior Member of the Leadership team working closely with the President/Certification Officer and CEO. This role has a significant impact on the company’s outcome and the possibility to use your personal talent and skills to create growth opportunities.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Executive Leadership Team

  • Turn strategy into operational planning and execution through closely monitoring operating performance against the financial plan and, where appropriate, making adjustments to capitalize on emerging opportunities or changing conditions.

  • Ensure adherence to key performance objectives to meet business and customer expectations.

  • Support continuous improvement culture to reduce non-value-added work and improve overall company performance.

  • Build business with current customers by delivering on commitments and create new business with potential customers in a proactive manner, promoting all company services.

  • Collaborate with leadership team to build an environment of collective responsibility and accountability.

  • Direct day-to-day operations to efficiently and effectively support the achievement of company operational and financial goals, while proactively preparing the organization to successfully attain longer-term strategic goals.

  • Manage all aspects of the business with integrity, respect, resourcefulness and a passion for sustainability, and ensure that these core values are consistently reflected throughout the organization.

  • Lead and motivate staff, promote employee involvement, operational excellence, internal career development, foster positive organizational culture, and ensure effective participation in continuous improvement efforts.

  • Oversee departmental projects and review the performance of other managers.


  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or other technical related discipline is required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree is preferred.

  • At least 12 years of progressive leadership experience in Quality or Engineering Management required.

  • Strong business acumen, ability to drive behaviors that turn operational activities directly into financial results, prepare and present high-level analytics.

  • Project Manager experience required.

  • Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) Methodology experience preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in people development, talent and performance management.
