Office Hour Focus Areas

Waste Diversion and Zero Waste

Our philosophy is that waste equals lost profit. We utilize our proven process to understand the waste at your facility, develop a waste diversion roadmap, find new outlets for difficult-to-manage waste streams, and create procedures to ensure correct waste handling practices.

Most importantly we help our clients eliminate waste generation at the source by redesigning processes in the facility. Waste minimization is the best approach to achieve zero waste to landfill goals as well as to provide significant cost savings.

Sustainability Action Plans

SSC offers tailored Sustainability Action Plans to help businesses enhance operational efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and achieve measurable cost savings.

  • Comprehensive Assessments: SSC conducts detailed audits of energy, water, and waste systems to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.

  • Strategic Decarbonization: Through decarbonization master planning, SSC develops roadmaps targeting emissions reductions across operations and supply chains.

  • Proven Financial Benefits: For example, in one project, SSC's assessment led to an estimated $1.83 million in annual savings for a single facility by identifying reduction opportunities in materials, packaging, water, waste, and energy.

Scope 3 Training Academy for Sourcing and Procurement Teams

Empower your sourcing and procurement teams to drive sustainability through expert-led Scope 3 training.

  • Tailored, Expert-Led Training: Delivered virtually OR in person by SSC sustainability experts, with content customized to your company, industry, and supply chain.

  • Engaging and Actionable Sessions: Includes three 1-hour webinars OR a half-day in-person session, interactive exercises, and recorded webinars for ongoing use.

  • Real Business Impact: Teams will gain confidence in supplier conversations, develop a supplier engagement roadmap, and contribute to cost savings and sustainability goals.

Scope 3 Training Academy for Suppliers

SSC’s Scope 3 Training Academy offers comprehensive, instructor-led training to help suppliers measure, report, and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions while supporting your company’s sustainability goals.

  • Live Expert-Led Training for Suppliers: A dedicated SSC sustainability expert delivers each session live.

  • Structured, Interactive Curriculum: Training includes 3 webinar-based modules, each with 4 sessions over 4 months (12 months total). Suppliers receive interactive exercises, workbooks, additional support hours, and optional access to software for emissions reporting.

  • Actionable Outcomes for Suppliers: Suppliers will be equipped to measure their Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions, report primary data to your company for accurate Scope 3 calculations, reduce their carbon footprint, and set science-based targets using practical tools and continuous improvement strategies.

Life cycle assessment and Product carbon footprint

  • Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) serves as a basis for developing a baseline of environmental impacts, identifying environmental hotspots, and as a decision-making tool to enhance the new product development process.

  • Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) utilizes LCA methodology to quantify all the GHG emissions generated throughout a product's life cycle from raw material extraction and manufacturing to transportation, usage, and disposal.
